owambe.

Shopping for native wear online usually means scrolling through flat photos. I wanted owambe. to feel closer to walking into a shop and running your hand along a rail. Agbada, kaftan, buba and sokoto, and iro and buba hang on a brass rail and sway as you move through them. You can turn a piece around to see the back, spin it on its hanger, or take it to the fitting room and put it on a dummy. There, you pick your build and height, and the store suggests a size and tells you how your choice will sit: snug, true to size, or relaxed. You can add a matching fila or gele too. Every outfit is drawn by hand as an illustration, so there isn't a single product photo on the site. You can browse freely without an account. Sign-in only comes up at checkout, with a code sent to your email or with Google. Payments go through Paystack, and an order is only marked paid after the server confirms it with Paystack directly. Prices are always worked out on the server, never trusted from the browser. Once you've bought something, it shows up in My orders, where you can open any order to see the pieces, sizes and delivery details. Any piece can be shared as its own link, which shows a preview of that outfit when posted on WhatsApp or X. It's the first launch in my short beautiful projects series, built in public. This first drop is a concept store, so prices are examples and Paystack runs in test mode.
